ESPN’s Jim Caple has posted his list of “The 101 Things Every Fan Must Experience Before They Die.”
Here’s how I stand on his list. I have been lucky enough to attend:
#4: The World Series (1993 @ the Vet)
#5: NCAA subregional [he means the 1st and 2nd rounds] (2006 @ Wachovia Center)
#6: Spring training (Phillies at Jack Russell, Royals at Baseball City, Braves at Disney)
#7: NFL conference championship game (2003 @ the Vet, 2004 and 2005 @ LFF)
#9: Wimbledon (1998)
#16: [Baseball] HoF Induction (1991 & 1995)
#23: Football game at Notre Dame (2006)
#28: US Open golf (2007 practice round @ Oakmont)
#30: US Open tennis (1999)
#35: MLB Opening Day (many times)
#43: MLB All-Star Game (1993 @ San Diego, 1996 @ the Vet)
#62: Midnight Madness (2003-2006 @ Gtown)
#64: Camp out for tickets (March 2007)
#88: Monday Night Football (Sept 8, 2003-Eagles vs. Bucs @ LFF)
Caple goes on to list his “10 Events to Avoid.” I have attended 3 of these events:
#1: Super Bowl (XXXIX Jacksonville-Eagles vs. Pats)
#2: NFL exhibition games (many)
#9: Wing Bowl
Attending 14 of his 101 in my 21 years shows how lucky I am. I think that its about 16 events, because he didn’t include the Super Bowl or the Final Four, both of which I’d include in my list.
